“Science Reporting in the Age of Fake News”

Science writer and New York Times columnist Carl Zimmer will speak on Oct. 23 at ƵCollege.

Science writer Carl Zimmer pens the “Matter” column for The New York Times and is a frequent contributor to contributed to The Atlantic, National Geographic, Time and Scientific American.

He will be speaking on the topic of “Science Reporting in the Age of Fake News” at ƵCollege on Tuesday, October 23, at 4:30 p.m. in Hooker Auditorium. The reading is sponsored by the ƵCollege Science Center, and will have copies of his books available for purchase.

The author of 13 books about science, Zimmer’s most recent publication, “She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity,” examines heredity and genetics from Charles Darwin to mail-order DNA testing. He is a three-time winner of the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Science Journalism Award. He teaches science writing at Yale University.
