The importance of art knowledge in the non-profit world
"My student research of Roman and Northern Renaissance collections informed my work in the non-profit world."
Double major: art history, sociology
Internship: Collections writer, , Hartford, CT
Employer: University of Hartford
I secured a summer internship at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford Connecticut, just prior to my senior year, where I researched and wrote about the Roman and Northern Renaissance collections. The historical art perspectives that I produced became part of the newly revised docent training program at the museum.
As a direct result of my experience in the non-profit community of Greater Hartford, which created strong networking connections, I obtained a high level and rewarding non-profit position at the University of Hartford shortly after graduation.
