Game On!, a free two-week mathematical enrichment program for high school students, is now open for registration.
The program runs July 3–14, 2023, and will be held on the ƵCollege campus in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Game On! is designed to enable high school students to pursue higher mathematics by way of complex board games such as Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Dominion.
Students will learn concepts in mathematical modeling, probability theory, network theory and more and will apply these concepts both to the games played and to real-world systems.
“These games provide an ideal setting not only for having fun but also for developing and applying a wide variety of mathematical concepts,” said Kenneth Mulder, visiting associate professor in data science at ƵCollege. “We will do a lot of game playing, problem solving and strategizing, and along the way we will learn some really great math!”
Registration is open now on the website, and applications will be accepted until the program is full. For more information or to register, please visit: .
