Bill Ivey is the Middle School Dean at Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls school in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He has been teaching for 32 years and currently teaches Humanities 7 and the Middle and Upper School Rock Bands. He coordinates and drives for the middle school community service program, supervises 7th-grade student government, and works with an advisory group. He also manages the school's blog and their Facebook and Twitter accounts. Ivey is passionate about a democratic classroom, student voice, intersectional gender activism, and social justice.
Ivey is on the Board of Directors of the New England League of Middle Schools and has also worked for and/or presented with the Association of Middle-Level Education, the Association of Independent Schools of New England, and the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools. He will soon add workshops with the National Coalition of Girls Schools and the Small Boarding Schools Association to his resumé.
