What clients may notice about my therapeutic style:
Students I work with tell me they experience me as genuine and caring, gentle yet firm, and always ready to share a good laugh. I strive to strike a balance between support and challenge, trusting in you as the expert in your life and using what I may know about theory, relationships, identity, mind/body connections, depression, anxiety, trauma, etc., to help you make positive changes and live more authentically. I believe that it is important to understand the concerns that bring you to counseling in the context of your relationship/family/academic/work history and the intersection of your identities with sociopolitical factors. I tend to check in frequently to see if we are focusing on the right things, and invite you to let me know whether the observations and suggestions I make are the right fit for you and your life.

When I鈥檓 not at work...
I enjoy reading with a cat on my lap, being outside, refinishing furniture, cooking/baking, and spending time with family.
